MASTER PROGRAMME – ”SOCIETY, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY”
The interdisciplinary Master Programme ”Society, Science and Technology” at Lund university, Sweden, is opening up for a new round of applications, starting December 1, 2008.
The programme starts September 1, 2009.
THEMATICS OF THE PROGRAMME
The emergence and diffusion of new technologies such as the Internet, genetic engineering, nanotechnology and new energy technologies opens up both opportunities and threats to modern societies and economies. The objective of this programme is to provide a strong foundation in the interdisciplinary knowledge that is necessary for understanding and managing these complex issues.
The programme is integrated into a network of 16 European universities (ESST), which collaborate in delivering courses. As a graduate, you are well equipped to find employment as a science and technology manager, advisor, consultant, researcher or in other functions in the fields of engineering and journalism. The programme provides you with first-class competencies to analyse and influence our response to the multiple challenges posed by scientific and technological change today.
The programme is offered by the Centre for Innovation, Research and Competence in the Learning Economy (CIRCLE) at Lund University, which is a Centre of Excellence in the field of innovation research. CIRCLE, together with its member departments, constitutes one of the worlds' largest education and research units in this field. Students will be advised by a dynamic group of teachers, including several world-leading scholars.
